Eligibility
- Age should not exceed 30 years as on the last date of the receipt of application.
- No maximum age limit for SC/ST/MBC/DC/BC/BCM and destitute widows of all castes.
- Age relaxation upto 5 years is available for persons those who are affected by the ban order as per the orders of the Government.

- Application can be obtained from the Post Offices on payment of Rs.30/- and Examination fees is Rs.75/-

B.E. degree in Civil Engineering or Civil and Structural Engineering of any University or Institution recognized by the organization, PWD University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grants.
- Pass in Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations under Civil Engineering branch, and should furnish the evidence of having undergone practical training in surveying for a period of not less than one year (or) should have been in service for a period of not less than one year in Public Works Department as Overseer or Junior Engineer (or) should hold the Upper Subordinate or L.C.E. Diploma of the College of Engineering, Guindy or L.C.E. Diploma awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Chennai.
